Meet Brittany & Jonathan,
Meet The Owners,
Brittany and Joanthan Leeder are the owners of Swag Pet Grooming. They are childhood sweethearts and have been together over ten years. Together they have worked in the pet industry for a combined 20+ years.
Brittany has had a passion for pets her whole life and always dreamed to own a business where she could help animals. She’d save up her allowance to buy books about all the different dog breeds that exist and would spend all her time memorizing them. She eventually found herself managing a successful pet store and earning a certification in canine nutrition.
Jonathan grew up in a pet store, as his parents opened their first business when he was only 12 years old. You could find him engraving name tags, stacking cans or napping in the dog beds. From a young age he saw his parents put their blood sweat and tears into growing a successful business which thrived on strong relationships with customers in their community.
The two of them have one dog, one cat and a crazy toddler named Ronin. Outside of work Brittany and Jonathan love spending time with family and camping up at Sylvan Lake. They have always shared the dream of being entrepreneurs and owning a business of their own, and are so excited to fulfill that dream.
Meet Leanna,
Senior Groomer
Leanna has always loved animals and known she wanted to work with them! She started her career as a bather before going through the PetSmart Grooming Academy. After a few years of grooming she found herself working under one of the top groomers in Canada. During this time she learned so much about grooming and the conformation of a dogs body which helped grow a talent to make every dog look their best.
“My favorite breeds to groom are Pomeranians, Rottweilers, Poodles and Bichons. I love doing grooms where I get to do cute Teddy Bear or Asian Fusion styles; as well as puppies. I love grooming puppies and watching them grow from hyper and unsure of the process, to calm and knowing what to expect.”
Meet Rebecca,
Senior Groomer
Rebecca has always had a passion for pet care and has spent many years volunteering at rescues and doggie daycares. She started her grooming career as a bather at an award winning grooming salon. Shortly after she began an apprenticeship with the head groomer. Throughout her career she honed her skills and worked on her knowledge of breed specific cuts by taking many courses and working under one of the top groomers in Canada. Rebecca is interested in learning how to work more with cats and venturing into creative grooming, such as dying ears and tails!
“I love doing hairy de sheds – they’re just so satifying! Breed specific cuts and sculpting legs and booties are also fun features to work on. My favorite breeds for grooming are Cavaliers, Setters and Poodles. Pugs and Great Danes also have a special place in my heart. I love getting to see how dogs evolve through the grooming experience – from nervouse to goofy, kissy goof balls.”
Meet Ashe,
Groomer
Ashe has loved animals for as long as they can remember—and they’ve always found ways to be surrounded by them! From riding horses and caring for neighborhood pets, to rescuing wildlife and fostering dogs, Ashe grew up with a heart full of compassion and hands always busy helping animals. They’ve even spent time volunteering with rescue organizations, giving back to the furry friends who need it most. When they’re not grooming, you’ll probably find Ashe diving into books and studies about animal behavior and health—because for them, learning how to better care for animals is a lifelong passion.
Ashe is Fear Free and Pet First Aid certified.
“I love being creative doing, cool hairstyles like mullets, pony cuts, asian fusion and dying fun colours. I love getting to have a relationship with the dogs and seeing them start to trust me and watching their personality shine through when they get more comfortable. I love so many dogs that it is hard to choose which ones are my favorite; but, I definitely have a special connection to Terriers and Pomeranians.”
Meet Nik,
Groomer
Nik has been surrounded by animals their whole life and they wouldn’t have it any other way —especially when it comes to dogs, who have always held a special place in their heart. Nik kicked off their grooming journey at PetSmart, where they completed the academy program before taking their talents to smaller salons around Calgary. Along the way, they’ve honed their skills and stayed passionate about keeping pets happy, healthy, and looking their best. With a big heart for animal welfare and a gentle touch, Nik treats every furry client like their own.

Meet Daria,
Grooming Assistant – Apprentice Groomer – “Golden Goddess”
Daria is our dedicated Grooming Assistant and newest Apprentice Groomer here at Swag! She’s currently learning the ropes under the guidance of one of our talented senior groomers and soaking up all the skills she can. On most days, you’ll find Daria busy behind the scenes—washing, drying, and fluffing pups to perfection—making sure they’re prepped and pampered before their big glow-up. Her love for animals shines through in everything she does, and we’re so excited to watch her grow into an amazing groomer!
She started her pet career working at a doggy daycare. This is where she fell in love and grew a passion for working with dogs. Since then she has experimented working at a vet clinic and has now found her way to the grooming world.
“My favorite part about working in a grooming salon is getting to know each dog for who they are and their unique personalities. My absolute favourite breed to work on is Golden Retrievers!”
